Spend Your Time Volunteering

Volunteering provides many benefits for older adults, such as socialization, a sense of purpose, and improved self-esteem. Knolls of Oxford residents have many opportunities to volunteer both on and off campus, including clipping coupons for military members overseas, Miami Intergenerational projects, compassionate visits to skilled nursing residents, and small projects through the Horticulture Club.

Take a Stroll Around Campus

Located on a beautiful 85-acre campus, The Knolls of Oxford provides residents with multiple scenic walking paths, a large pond, and convenient access to many other outdoor offerings.

Whether you are a casual stroller, nature lover, bird watcher, or simply enjoying the fresh air, there are plenty of opportunities to enjoy nature right here at The Knolls. The refreshing, peaceful grounds surrounding your new home will inspire walking, biking, and other avenues of outdoor enjoyment.

The Knolls of Oxford Library features an extensive collection of books ranging from fiction, non-fiction, romance, mystery, and much more!

Within the library, you will also find a computer for resident use and multiple seating options that provide the perfect space for you to spend the afternoon with a good book.

Try a New Hobby

With less time spent on housekeeping and maintenance, residents can spend their days how they like, providing the perfect opportunity to try a new hobby. Located both within our campus and nearby, you will find spaces for pickleball, bridge, art and beading classes, card games, watercolor classes, and much more!

Residents are welcome to try these new hobbies out on their own or join a resident-led group.

The Commons Auditorium is a versatile venue for many community events like Institute for Learning in Retirement (ILR), musical performances such as the Miami University Glee Club, and holiday gatherings. Brand new armchairs and pedestal tables allow for maximum comfort and were recently purchased with funds raised by residents, staff, and community members.
