Life at The Knolls of Oxford is so much more than beautiful living accommodations. Our lovely 85 acres of campus offers a carefree, fun environment that allows you to be as active or leisurely as you wish. Conveniently located in the Miami University community of Oxford, you are only minutes away from cheering on your favorite university sports team or attending an art gallery opening. Enjoy the multitude of cultural events and concerts regularly offered at Miami University or dine at a new restaurant uptown. Whatever you desire, we guarantee there is something for everyone!

Resort Style Living

Independent Living residents at The Knolls of Oxford can enjoy meals in two different locations, The Byline Bistro or the Clubhouse Restaurant.

Residents may choose to pay per meal or select our convenient dining pass option allowing them unlimited access to lunches in the Bistro and dinners in the Clubhouse.

Guests are also welcome to dine in these venues and will pay the current food rate.

Attend Planned Activities and Outings

Each area of living at The Knolls of Oxford has its own trained Activity staff dedicated to ensuring our residents live their lives to the fullest. This can be seen through our well-rounded activity calendars that include outside and resident speakers, fitness classes, spiritual enrichment, luncheons, education, entertainment, and much more.

Our Activity staff members act as a tour guide for residents as they plan and organize many exciting off-campus outings such as dining at area restaurants, exploring local museums, attending Miami sports games, or enjoying a morning at the Symphony.

Spend Your Time Volunteering

Volunteering provides many benefits for older adults such as socialization, a sense of purpose, and improved self-esteem. Knolls of Oxford residents have many opportunities to volunteer both on and off campus including clipping coupons for military members overseas, Miami Intergenerational projects, compassionate visits to skilled nursing residents, and small projects through the Horticulture Club.

Take a Stroll Around Campus

Located on a beautiful 85-acre campus, The Knolls of Oxford provides residents with multiple scenic walking paths, a large pond, and convenient access to many other outdoor offerings.

Five miles down the road, you can enjoy the well-stocked fishing holes or an afternoon of boating at Hueston Woods State Park. Whether you are a casual stroller, nature lover, bird watcher, or simply enjoy the fresh air, there are plenty of opportunities to enjoy nature right here at The Knolls. The refreshing peaceful grounds surrounding your new home will inspire walking, biking, and other avenues of outdoor enjoyment.

Read a Book in Our Extensive Library

The Knolls of Oxford Library features an extensive collection of books ranging anywhere from fiction, non-fiction, romance, mystery, and much more!

Within the Library you will also find a computer for resident use as well as multiple seating options provided the perfect space for you to spend the afternoon with a good book.

Treat Yourself at the Salon

At the Knolls of Oxford, we want our residents to look as good as they feel! With a fully equipped salon conveniently located on campus, our staff ensures you will always look your best! The newly renovated Hair Salon is open to all residents and include hair, nail, and waxing services. 

The Hair Salon is open every Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 10:00am – 3:00pm.  Appointments are required for all residents.

Try a New Hobby

With less time spent on housekeeping and maintenance, residents are free to spend their days however they like providing the perfect opportunity to try a new hobby. Located both within our campus and nearby you will find spaces for pickle ball, bridge, art and beading classes, card games, watercolor classes, and much more!

Residents are welcome to try these new hobbies out on their own or join a resident led group.

Attend an Event in the Auditorium

The Commons Auditorium is the versatile venue for many community events like Institute for Learning in Retirement (ILR), musical performances such as the Miami University Glee Club, holiday gatherings, and more.  Brand new arm chairs and pedestal tables allow for maximum comfort and were recently purchased with funds raised by residents, staff, and community members alike.

The adjacent wrap-around patio is the perfect space for outdoor events and great views with even better friends.

Join a Committee or Club

At the Knolls of Oxford, we believe that the best way to improve community life for our residents is by listening to the residents themselves. Residents have the opportunity to be involved in the Resident’s Council. This council is comprised of various committees focused on dining, safety, technology, hospitality, and activities. Residents work with staff in these committees to provide suggestions to improve campus life. These suggestions are reviewed monthly and passed onto administration.

Residents also have the opportunity to join various independent clubs on campus such as art club, writing club, book club, bible study, the horticulture club, and much more!

Try a Guided Wellness Class

Our community is full of active and lively adults who are passionate about staying healthy. Residents have the opportunity to try different resident led Wellness Classes at the Clubhouse during the week as well as utilize many area fitness centers conveniently located close to The Knolls of Oxford campus.  

Spiritual Care

The Knolls of Oxford is non-denominational. We offer a variety of Spiritual Life Services to our community such as pastoral care, worship, and education.

Our Pastoral care program includes visits to Skilled Nursing residents, Sacred Rites and Clinical Assessments, Counseling and Spiritual Direction, Hospital Visits, Christian Wholeness Ministry, End of Life Bereavement Care, the “Praying Hearts” prayer chain, Spiritual Care Volunteer Programs like the Chaplain Aide Visitors and Compassionate Companions.
